Absynthe was voted 46th in Australia's Top 100 Restaurants and 1st in Queensland regional restaurants by Gourmet Traveller's 2011 Restaurant Guide.

Absynthe is located in front of the Q1 Building at the junction of Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Clifford Street and Hamilton Avenue in the recently redeveloped heart of Surfers Paradise. This casual but sophisticated restaurant is a short stroll from the Surfers Paradise tourist hub and one block back from the famous Surfers Paradise beach. Complimentary parking under the Q1 building is also available.

Head Chef, Meyjitte Boughenout has seen his career rise like a soufflé. By the time he was 25 he was Executive Chef at Belgium’s Restaurant Scholteshos and the proud holder of two Michelin Stars. Meyjitte has designed both a seasonal la carte menu and a degustation menu. Both menus are available from Monday to Saturday for dinner. Absynthe is also available for special events and corporate functions.

I dined at Absynthe on a voucher and thoroughly enjoyed my night. Portions were small but the flavour and service were great.
