The George brings sleek, stylish new spaces to the trendy west end precinct of Perth’s business district, which is fast becoming the ‘it’ part of St Georges Terrace.
Sequestered away in the heart of the very British London House, The George exudes a reserve and opulence that reeks of money and the made man.
The George is captivating; achingly beautiful in a way few places, let alone bars, are. The George fit out offers an intimate, stylish interior incorporating contemporary furnishings, such as high bar tables and low cosy booth seating.
Moving past softly veiled banquettes and a wrought iron centre-piece, sumptuous wallpaper and over-sized mirrors adorn a secluded restaurant area.
Also installed in The George is a Champagne Bar featuring a customised champagne rack in which to store champagne bottles via the traditional methods.
There’s a cocktail bar for the discriminating palate, private boudoirs for those wishing to clinch more intimate deals and a Scandinavian forest running rampant through the restrooms. Soft lighting and candles greet the customers at night as music with bass and attitude one minute, the latest and freshest party hits and classics of 80’s and 90s the next surrounds them. A large corporate area complete with training room is also available, with a reviving bar and barbecue area to get stuck into after those long brainstorming sessions.
Guests are able to choose from an all-day menu which offers ‘gorgeous little nibbly things’, such as ricotta, fresh herbs and spinach mushrooms, and sea salt and white pepper squid with candied lemon aioli. There is also an extensive selection of more substantial dishes including porcini mushroom risotto with whipped mascarpone, and Amelia Park lamb rack rolled in Mediterranean chutney on caponata. The majority of ingredients are made in-house using the freshest and most seasonal produce possible, and several vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are also available.
The George’s menu focuses on contemporary and innovative dishes, while the meticulously crafted wine list features selections from renowned Australian vineyards and New Zealand’s Marlborough region, as well as wines from Italy, France and Spain.
The George uses premium spirits such as Tanqueray Gin, Smirnoff Blue Vodka, Johnny Walker Black Scotch Whiskey, Havana Club Rum and Olmeca Tequila.
Unwind with a choice of over 50 local and imported beers, both on tap and bottled or tantalize your taste-buds with selections from the modern Cocktail List. Sit back and relax as you feast on one of the share plates and watch classic films on the big screen.
The George’s premium selection of beverages, fantastic food, and the fit-out of the venue attract patrons from all over Perth.
The phenomenon of The George on a Friday night has taken Perth by storm; everything combines to create a funky vibe in the venue where all age groups can enjoy the fast paced energy and music complemented by outstanding service.
A huge marble bar is indicative of the high end bespoke features that have created an evocative and unique venue. Spectacular feature pieces include an impressive wrought iron chandelier sourced from France that stretches over 1.5m wide, and a 2.5 tonne stone mural mounted on the wall, especially created for The George by Italian stonecutters. It’s all very divide-and-conquer.
The George’s extensive beverage selection coupled with a contemporary menu and a stylish, intimate interior has seen it firmly secure a place amongst Perth’s restaurant and bar scene since opening its doors in October 2008.
The George has been host to some of Perth’s most elaborate and exclusive events and after-party functions such as the Chandon Supper Club, Perth Winter Arts Season launch, and Tourism Victoria’s winter campaign launch and the One Movement Festival Showcase Series.

The George
Got a group of girlfriends together over the holidays and we went to The George for high tea. The booth we got was great and very private. The service was good and the waiter suggested teas for us dependent on our taste. Great place for a girlie together!
Definitely on my list of places to go back to, great atmosphere and great food. Can't wait to have that pork belly again - wasn't a big serve but the taste made up for it.
Awesome food, drinks and service. I love this place!
