Beluga is the new project from Michael Platsis owner of the famous Michael's restaurant. Michael’s restaurant has been established since 1975 and has been Queensland’s most awarded restaurant. It is renowned for its quality in food, wine, service, ambience and having the very best standards in hospitality.

During the many successful years at Michael’s Restaurant we have catered for world class celebrities, royalty and most importantly you. Michael’s Restaurant has always taken pride in giving every customer the best standard of service possible. Michael Platsis and his friendly team have taken this winning formula and instilled into his newest venture in Main Beach, Gold Coast, Beluga Bar and Restaurant.

Being Main Beach’s newest venue, Beluga Bar and Restaurant offers something for all. Whether it be enjoying some of the freshest seafood in the restaurant while watching the infamous Tedder Ave go by or dancing the night away to live music in the baby Grand Piano Bar next door, Michael Platsis and his friendly staff will do everything they can to make sure you have a great experience.

Beluga stands out from the other restaurants on the street. It not only has the two flaming towers on the front entrance and amazing abstract art placed all through the restaurant but it also has 6 large aquariums filled with beautiful tropical fish, embedded in the walls of the restaurant. At night time the aquariums glow a luminous blue lighting up the entire restaurant.

Beluga is predominantly a seafood restaurant but offers a variety of meat, game, pasta and pizza dishes. We source most of our seafood from the local trawlers, that way it gets to us a quickly and freshly as possible. At Beluga we are proud of the quality of our seafood, so much so that we present it daily in a seafood cabinet in the Beluga Bar for all to see.

To enhance the flavours of our dishes we boast one of the best wine lists in Queensland that has been sourced from a large variety of international, domestic and boutique wineries. We have wines ranging from the very popular New Zealand Cloudy Bay sauvignon blanc to the 1953 French Chateau Haut Brion. Whatever the dish you choose we will have a wine to perfectly compliment it.

The Beluga bar is the perfect place to come and have a drink and relax with friends. We have artists and entertainers, ranging from pianists to solo guitarists, performing live in the Beluga bar every Friday and Saturday night to entertain you. We offer a great bar menu that includes many different dishes ranging from, fresh sashimi, oyster shooters, homemade Italian style pizza and the “old faithful” fish and chips.

Our cocktail list boasts some of the freshest and finest ingredients that have been lovingly intertwined to produce drinks that will appeal to all taste buds. So if you don’t feel like the full a la carte service of the restaurant come and sit at the mosaic bar and grab yourself a plate of fresh sashimi and let the bartender make you a cucumber and rose infused gin martini to perfectly compliment the dish and listen to the sounds of the baby grand piano.

At beluga we cater for all, we try our best to accommodate your needs; if you require a dish that is not on our menu and we have the time and ingredients to make it we will always do our best to do so.
