Situated within the Belconnen Premier Inn, Benjamin’s finds itself wrapped in a 180 degree views of its surrounds by enormous rounded glass windows. Vibrant colours and foliage set the scene on arrival of your table, where a simplistic setting is subtly distracted by a view of the glowing kitchen bursting with life and energy. The menu upon first glance seems small and unassuming, begun with specialty breads and a suggestive list of modern cocktails. Upon further inspection of the bill of fare, the foodie’s brain begins to salivate. From sweet and sour prawn and bacon skewers to crispy zucchini and yogurt fritters, it starts to become clear this is not your run-of-the-mill hotel restaurant. The main menu then paces forward to throw down spectacular dishes such as twice-cooked pork belly with an Asian twist and a Persian feta infused roasted vegetable puff pastry pie. These Chefs have done their homework. Desert beckons after a wonderful dinner accompanied by an impressive wine list, featuring local wineries from Canberra and its surrounds. Pina Colada puddings are regularly on order as fan favorites at Benjamin’s, closely competed with by melt in your mouth crème profiteroles and coconut peach melba delights. Drawing on various backgrounds and skill-sets, the kitchen team at Benjamin’s are headed up by Head chef Kevin Lindsay. Kevin gives much credit of the success of Benjamin’s to his brilliant team of chefs behind him, clearly shown in the consistency of quality from breakfast through to dinner and room service.
