A real local hero, Fringe is all bordello cool and faux grandeur decor, but it belies a heart of (liquid) gold with Monday night comedy, $10 meals and kung-fu film nights.

Happily stranded in the nightlife no-man’s-land between Taylor Square and Paddington Town Hall, the well-named Fringe Bar has had to make its own fun. The end result is a unique Sydney watering hole doing something different almost every night of the week... with Fringe benefits.

Monday is comedy night when you can see three comics (including headliners like Corrine Grant, Will Anderson and Tahir) for $10, Tuesday is trivia night, Wednesday night is fun fun fun with our regular ‘FRIENDS’ night boasting DJ’s such as Bloc Party, Lost Valentinos, AJAX and HOODRAT. On Thursday Fringe hosts Sydney’s best Karaoke night and offers all-you-can-eat pizza for $10 and cocktails for $8. Friday nights we have a monthly giveaway, Saturday is your usual club night and Sunday from 5pm is Sunsets playing live music from emerging artists and local bands.

Get the weekend off to a bang, with happy hour on Friday from 4pm with $3 beer and wine a-flowin’. On Saturday during the day, the place turns itself into a market selling clothing, jewellery, accessories and flowers. By night, Fringe has more of a club feel with a line out the door and bouncers to boot. The bar itself is decked out in faux grandeur with exposed brick and bordello lampshades riding shotgun, to flat-screen TV’s showing Fashion TV and kung-fu films framed like art masterpieces.

With a recently updated menu, Fringe has something for everyone for lunch and dinner. With a great steak, beautiful Salmon and tasty pizza’s The Fringe is definitely the place to go for a place with atmosphere, relaxed lunch or dinner or a night out on the town.
