Mauricio started in hospitatlity at the age of 17 working at Castro's South American cake shop in Sydney's western suburbs. Making Alfarores, churros & media lunas had him searching for more. While working in London at the age of 19 he was offered a position as a bartender at a popular London Spanish bar, this started his journey to discover European cuisine.
Upon returning to Sydney, Mauricio commenced working at the famous Studibakers restaurant & night club in Kings Cross. He was employed as a function/marketing corrdinator, within 2 years he was the marketing manager of both Kings Cross & Parramatta venues. After the worldwide empire of Studibakers collapsed, Mauricio began working with Delaware North catering as function manager overseeing all functions & coporate suites at Parramatta football stadium. When Mauricio was offered a job at the University of Western Sydney to head the functions department over 5 campuses, he then began studying at Univeristy of Western Sydney to attain a degree in Event management. Graduating with a high distinction, he then began working as an Event manager at The Cabinet in St Leanards. Involved in the successfull tender process that won The Cabinet the contract to run Luna Park Sydney. Mauricio was in charge of the massive catering team that opened & ran the park & 8 function rooms.
When The Cabinet ceased operating, Mauricio decided to follow his dreams & open his own catering company. Operating since 2005 Studio Sydney has catered to many many clients including City of Sydney council, PWC, David Grant Special events and many more.
