PENFOLDS MAGILL ESTATE CELLAR DOOR Only 15 minutes from Adelaide's CBD, the PENFOLDS Magill Estate Cellar Door is nestled in the foothills of Adelaide. The winery exudes the charm and character of its founders, whose pioneering spirit brought their family name into the homes of the Australian people more than 160 years ago and inspired the creation of Australia's greatest wine, PENFOLDS Grange, in the 1951.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the history, philosophy and spirit of PENFOLDS at the first home of PENFOLDS. Located amongst the sixty year old Shiraz vineyards is the original Penfold family home, Grange Cottage, built in 1845. Guided tours of the family home are available as well as tours on the historic working winery encompassing the Bluestone Vintage Cellar and Underground Maturation Cellar.

PENFOLDS Magill Estate is located at 78 Penfold Road, Magill, South Australia and is open seven days a week from 10am until 5pm (closed Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday).

A glorious lawn and water feature at the entrance create a tranquil environment and while the restaurant effortlessly blends into the historical Estate, our Executive Chef, Luke Stepsys has designed a menu that stands out from the crowd.

The philosophy behind Luke Stepsys’ unique cooking style is to present food using new and modern techniques; fusing textures, temperatures and flavours that will both challenge and delight the most discerning of palates. He believes it is important to deal with food in a way that demonstrates the true nature and flavour of an ingredient.

PENFOLDS Magill Estate Restaurant highlights the importance of pairing five-star cuisine with unparalleled wines. The menu is designed from the wine up to enhance and accentuate the extensive wine list with an unparalleled range of PENFOLDS wines including mature vintage reds from the winery's museum. Many of these, including PENFOLDS Grange, are available by the glass.

PENFOLDS Magill Estate Restaurant offers something for every palate. Each season the menu changes to reflect the finest South Australian seafood, organic meat, fruit and vegetables and handcrafted cheese. Diners may choose from the degustation or a la cart menus, and vegetarians are catered for with a special offering. Recent awards include Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year and Restaurant of the Year at the 2007 South Australian Restaurant and Catering Awards.
