Sandalford Dining Enjoy a lazy afternoon with friends or family with sophisticated food paired with our award winning wines amongst the 120 year old vines at the Sandalford restaurant, the 2009 Gold Plate Award Winner for Best Tourism Restaurant (City/Metro) and the 2008 Gold Plate Award winner for Best Restaurant within a Winery (Perth surrounds). Groups are catered for with delicious set menus and beverage packages. Seasonal dishes crafted from the freshest regional produce and the uniquely beautiful setting will leave a genuine and lasting impression. Functions and Events Sandalford is the perfect venue for corporate, wedding and social functions in the Swan Valley, with multiple function rooms, lawn areas for outdoor events and picturesque grounds suitable for any size function. Sandalford also hosts a number of festivals and events throughout the year, attracting thousands of visitors and international performers such as Lionel Richie, Leonard Cohen, Alicia Keys, John Fogerty, Steely Dan and John Mellencamp. Winemaker for a Day During your winemaker for a day experience you will first visit our fermentation, crushing and maturation facilities. We will teach you about the winemaking process and in particular, the blending stage. We’ll explain the difference between the varieties, regions and vintages and why blending often takes place. The opportunity awaits for you to then create your original ‘drop’ to be judged by our wine experts. A three course set lunch and complimentary glass of wine in our award winning restaurant will round off the day. On departure you will receive a bottle of wine with your very own personalised label. Bookings Essential. Sandalford Winery Tours Your Sandalford Experience commences with a short film detailing the beginnings of Sandalford in our custom built theatrette. Then your journey will go behind the scenes as you tour the operational winery from suspended overhead walkways. You will discover Sandalford’s winemaking process from vine to bottle. Following the tour, a comprehensive wine appreciation session walks you step by step through the evaluation of a variety of our wines. This unique tour and tasting experience also includes a wine education booklet and a Sandalford tasting glass. The Sandalford Experience tour and tasting operates daily at 11am and 3pm. The duration is approximately 60 minutes to 75 minutes. Group discounts, minimum of twenty, are also available. Bookings are essential for large groups.
